Burghound 90♥: A beautifully layered nose combines notes of mineral reduction, quinine, essence of pear, quinine and a whiff of just sliced citrus. The lilting and beautifully refined flavors exude a subtle minerality on the very dry, well-detailed and lingering finish where a touch of youthful austerity slowly emerges. This is very good for its level.

Vinous 90-92: The Meursault Les Grands Charrons, matured in 20% new oak, has quite an engaging bouquet, with hints of white fennel and mint infusing citrus fruit. Impressive delineation. The palate is well-balanced with a silver bead of acidity. Linear in style, there is no peacock's tail towards the finish, but plenty of spiciness, a touch of Szechuan pepper leaving the mouth tingling on the aftertaste. Recommended.
