Los Vascos Cromas Syrah Gran Reserva
Los Vascos Cromas Syrah Gran Reserva
It is on the rugged granite hills of the Coastal Mountain Range that Syrah has found a home. The difficult conditions encourage the vines to reach their full potential and produce grapes of great complexity. The intense violet hues and fragrant aromas of violets are the distinctive elements of a great Syrah, and of the Los Vascos Cromas Syrah.
The wines in Los Vascos' Cromas range are aged for 12 months in barrels. The shallow granite soils and the good sun exposure of the slopes gave rise to well-balanced vines that today produce precise and elegant wines.
Winemaker notes
Ruby red color, plum and cherry-scented nose with hints of caramel, chocolate, tobacco and black olives. Well-structured mouthfeel, good volume, pleasant tannins; a wine with a forward personality.
2019
James Suckling 92: So much sweet tobacco with blackberry and spice. Some dried meat, too. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a light chocolate and spice undertone. A new wine from here. Drink now.
2021
Wine Enthusiast 90: This Syrah offers subtle dark aromas of blackberry that lead to a palate with a similar intensity to black fruit. Good acidity lifts gentle flavors of plums, figs and toasted oak, extending them through the finish.
