2014

Wine Advocate 90: The 2014 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove is a lush and well measured red wine that does not shy back in terms of intensity. Neither does it overachieve in that department. This blend of 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot marches to a steady pace with good fruit definition followed by spice, leather and fresh tobacco leaf.

James Suckling 91: Very pretty texture of lemon rind and fresh tannins with fresh plum and peach undertones. Sweet tobacco. Turns to chocolate. Medium to light body.

2015

Wine Advocate 93: This is a stunning and exuberant wine that drinks with beautiful intensity and personality. The 2015 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is made with fruit from the estate's young vines. Fruit from the older vines is instead directed to the top-shelf expressions. If this wine is any indication of what we can expect from the next vintage of Ornellaia to hit the market, we are in for a very special treat. This is a complete and richly concentrated expression that drinks with seamless intensity. It pits power against elegance with confidence and grace.

James Suckling 94: Plenty of blackberry and rust with tile and stone undertones. Full body, tannic and structured. A big and flavorful red.

2016

Wine Advocate 94: This is a fantastic interpretation from Bolgheri. The 2016 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is made with fruit from the same vineyard plots that go into the Bolgheri Superiore, only this is a second selection if you will. Generally speaking, fruit from the younger vines goes here. This wine gives us a very pretty glimpse of what we can expect of the high-end releases from this classic vintage. The fruit is rock solid, delineated, tonic and firm. The pleasure factor awarded here is very high thanks to the wine's inner softness, silky tannins and soothing extract. The bouquet is seamless and pristine.

James Suckling 94: Appreciate the aromas of crushed stones and currants that follow through to a full body, velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Lots of dark-berry and walnut character in the aftertaste. Beautiful second wine of Ornellaia.
