Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc
Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc
Los Vascos’ Sauvignon Blanc is made from grapes purchased on long term contracts with growers in the Casablanca Valley. The vintages all offer very pure fruit and a lively, refreshing palate.
Winemaker notes
This wine has remarkable aromatic expression in the bouquet with lemon, grapefruit and exotic fruit enhanced by the characteristic boxwood aroma of the Sauvignon.
2022
Wine Advocate 87: The very pale varietal 2022 Sauvignon Blanc was produced with grapes from Colchagua (in the past it was from Casablanca), and they planted some clones and also buy grapes from the coastal part of the appellation, in Paredones. It's expressive, herbal and varietal, clean and light, with shy flavors.
James Suckling 91: A fresh and slightly more neutral sauvignon blanc with some white asparagus to the lemon zest and sea shell characters. Textured and creamy, showing a bit more gastronomic austerity than just fruit. Fresh and dry. Drink now. Screw cap.
2023
James Suckling 90: Refreshing guava, gooseberries, green apples and green olives. Crisp, bone-dry and elegant on the palate, showing punchy acidity and lightness. Simple and a little light, but certainly gastronomic and should go very well with most seafood. Sustainable. Drink now.
