Based in the northern part of Fuissé, just on the borders of the hamlet of Pouilly, the « Tournant de Pouilly » is a vineyard of one hectare in area, split between two parcels, planted on a gentle slope that faces north-east. This historic vineyard is a part of 1er Cru "Les Reisses".

Planted by Jean-Alfred Ferret in 1995, 1963 and 1964, the vines from this parcel are, on average, a little bit older than 60 years old, one of the oldest vineyards owned by the Domaine. A small parcel of 15 "ares" was replanted in the spring of 2018 after having lain fallow for several years. This particular parcel of young vines won't make it into the cuvee for several years to come.

Winemaker notes

2022: Always a bit austere and shy at first glance, it is undoubtedly the most "chic" of the selections with its chalky touch and its fresh and persistent finish.

2020

Burghound 92-94♥: A restrained, indeed even timid nose grudgingly offers up its aromas of mineral reduction, citrus and white-fleshed fruit, all of which is trimmed in enough wood to notice. The succulent but punchy medium-bodied flavors possess almost a painful level of intensity also with a pungent minerality that adds a sense of lift to the citrusy, youthfully austere and beautifully well-balanced finale. This is excellent and worthy of your interest.

Wine Advocate 94: The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Hors-Classe Tournant de Pouilly is performing well, exhibiting aromas of pear, mandarin oil, hazelnuts, freshly baked bread and iodine, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate that's satiny and layered, with lively acids and an elegantly muscular profile.

Vinous 92: The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Tournant de Pouilly 1er Cru is much more Zen-like, backward on the nose that does not want to come out and play, yet there is clearly coiled-up intensity here and it just needs some bottle age. The palate is well-balanced with a fine spine of acidity thanks to the limestone soil, a little chalkiness coming through on the focused finish. Very fine.
