In Chassagne-Montrachet, large marble stone quarries form a rocky front: in Paris, the Trocadéro or more recently the Louvre Pyramid use this stone in pink or beige paving.
Winemaker notes
A wine full of subtlety, marked by aromas of Japanese grapefruit, offering a beautiful balance between substance and finesse. On the palate, it is juicy, with subtle notes of humus and fern that add complexity. A wine that is both powerful and refined.
2003
Wine Advocate 89: The 2003 Chassagne-Montrachet (white) has superb aromatics, revealing exotic fruits, spices, and pears. Rich, ample, and supple, this opulently layered wine offers a chunky, toasty core of spicy white fruits. Reminiscent of a Sonoma Chardonnay, it is big, broad-shouldered, and extroverted.
