Morlet Ma Princesse Chardonnay
Morlet Ma Princesse Chardonnay
Located on the river bench of Sonoma County's Russian River Valley, this hillside vineyard benefits from ideal conditions for the Chardonnay vines. The cuttings came from the Old Wente, and the field selection is renowned for its excellent quality and richness. This concentration originates from the typical petite size of the berries. Handcrafted using classical Burgundian winemaking techniques, this wine is dedicated to our daughter, Claire Morlet.

2020
Wine Advocate 95: Sourced from the Ritchie Vineyard and barrel fermented in one-third new French oak, the 2020 Chardonnay Ma Princesse is a beauty, featuring intriguing scents of pencil shavings, crushed stone, pineapple and lemon. It's medium to full-bodied but nicely delineated and crisp, with a zesty, lingering finish.
Vinous 94: The 2020 Chardonnay Ma Princesse is very pretty and airy, but retains all the classic textural notes that are such signatures of Luc Morlet's wines. Strong mineral and savory accents lend complexity as well as nuance. Mineral and ash undertones on the finish add a distinctive flair.
