The Bouzereau family has settled down in Meursault and has been cultivating vine for seven generations. In 1999, Michel entrusted the whole management of the family vineyard to his son Jean-Baptiste. They specialize in producing Chardonnay from Meursault and Puligny Montrachet. This wine is refined, balance, delicate with a floral, mineral nose and notes of acacia and vanilla and made in very limited quantity from their exceptional terroirs of 0.43 ha Champ Gain on a steep slope with rocky, limestone soil.
2022
Burghound 90-93♥: There is plenty of petrol character to the spicy aromas of Granny Smith apple and lemon rind. There is good concentration to the seductively textured and appealingly vibrant middleweight flavors where the supporting citrus-tinged acidity renders the sneaky long finish saliva inducing. This refreshing effort is really quite good, and I particularly like the prominent bead of minerality.
Vinous 90-92: The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champs Gains 1er Cru has a refined bouquet with just a touch of menthol peeking from behind the veneer of blood orange and light wild peachy aromas. The well-balanced palate has a more mineral-driven entry than the Blagny 1er Cru tasted alongside, taut and linear, though it needs a little more on the back end. Drink: 2026-2041.
