The Grands Echézeaux, AOC Grand Cru since 1937, are located in the continuity of the Musigny (Grand Cru from Chambolle) on the southern axis of the Côte, on a less turbulent and more regular surface. They are quite homogeneous, close to the upper part of the Clos de Vougeot (3 to 4% slope, clay-limestone soils and slab of Baician limestone), at 250 meters above sea level. Its vines exposed to the east offer a powerful and ample wine.
Winemaker notes
Grands Echézeaux are complex and majestic wines that require time and patience in tasting. They are not revealed immediately, but subsequently show a beautiful length and impressive depth. We recognize here the characteristic of the wines located on the "Faille des Grands Crus". Freshness and depth complete a very lively aromatic palette of black fruits. This wine is strong and elegant accompanied by fresh and complex aromas.

Burghound 91-93: This is like smelling a bouquet of flowers with its perfumed nose of spicy red berries and exotic tea scents. There is again a lovely texture to the vibrant and supple but not especially dense flavors that display focused power on the dusty, moderately austere and impressively lingering finale. Despite not being a monster of concentration, it should age well on its balance.
